Criteria: The award will be presented to a current undergraduate student who has demonstrated outstanding performance in academics, as well as exemplary participation in extracurricular and co-curricular activities over the past year(s). Additionally, the recipient must have a paper accepted for presentation at WAMS 2026 and be registered to attend the conference.

Award: The selected awardee shall receive a cash prize of INR 5,000, along with a plaque and a certificate recognizing the awardee’s achievements.

S19. Dr. Venkata Kishore Kothapudi Best Paper Award for Excellence in Radar Applications and Research by a Female Student

Criteria: This award is instituted by Dr. Kothapudi to encourage young students in the areas related to radar technologies. Eligible candidates for this award include undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students who are the first authors of orally presented papers covering radar applications and systems, antenna designs for radars, RF and microwave components, or wireless communication techniques for radar connectivity and networking. The papers for this award shall be evaluated based on technical originality, relevance to radar systems, innovation, and practical implementation.

Award: The recipient of the award must be a registered participant of the conference. The award includes a cash prize of INR 10,000, a plaque, and a certificate. S21. Raj Mittra Grant in India (RMGI) for Ph.D. Students (INR 25,000)

Criteria: Raj Mittra Foundation (RMF) is pleased to announce an all-inclusive travel grant for WAMS 2026.

The objective of RMF is to support education and research in the field of electromagnetics.

Particularly in computational electromagnetics, with a focus on providing opportunities to the

next generation of Ph.D. students in India.

Eligibility Criteria: Ph.D. candidates currently enrolled in Indian institutions and working in the field of electromagnetics may apply. The selection will be based on the applicant’s biodata,

publication record, Ph.D. research plan, and paper acceptance in WAMS 2026. Preference will be given to work addressing fundamental physics and/or mathematics of engineering electromagnetics.

Applications must be emailed to the program coordinators at  maifuzali@hotmail.com with “RMGI” as the subject title by the deadline of

May 25, 2026.

Award: The award will cover the following for the selected candidate:

  1. Travel grant (AC III-tier train ticket or equivalent)
  2. Registration Fee
  3. Hotel accommodation

The awardee will receive a bank cheque at the conference venue during the awards banquet night.

The total cost of the above three items shall not exceed INR 25,000.
